BROOKSVILLE - Why eat ham this Christmas when you can have a slice of pizza?
River of Life Church is hosting a pizza party Saturday, Dec. 20 complete with Christmas music and a visit from Santa Claus. Children can also sign up to receive presents from Santa. So far there are close to 100 kids enrolled.
The deadline for signing up is Friday, Dec. 12.
That means donations of clothes and toys are needed for children ages newborn through 12. Items can be dropped off at Pak-Mail in the shopping mall at 19514 Cortez Blvd. and the Pawn Shop in the Mountain Plaza, 18616 Cortez Blvd.
"It's going to be a really fun night," said Pastor Dan Strength.
Strength is discovering that many of the donors this year are grandparents missing their grandchildren. He emphasized that anyone who "has a heart for children" is welcome to attend the event, which starts 4 p.m.
The church is located at 8187 Fort Dade Ave., less than a mile north of Cortez Boulevard. For more information or to learn how you can donate, contact Strength at 352-428-7506.
