BROOKSVILLE - Because of Thanksgiving, there were no government meetings last week.
But this week, it's a different story. County commissioners hold their regular business meeting at 9 a.m. today at the Hernando County Government Center, 20 North Main St. in downtown Brooksville.
That's followed at 2 p.m. today by a special workshop for county commissioners to prioritize upcoming issues. That workshop will be held in the Community Activity Center meeting room, 201 E. Ft. Dade Ave., in downtown Brooksville.
But that's only the start. Here are more meetings scheduled this week:
Housing Authority Meets Dec. 3
The Hernando County Housing Authority will meet at 3 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 3, in the Hernando County Government Center, county commission chambers, at 20 N. Main St. in downtown Brooksville.

Citizens Advisory Committee Meets Dec. 4
The Hernando County Metropolitan Planning Organization will conduct a public meeting of the Citizens Advisory Committee (CAC) at 4 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 4, in the Hernando County planning department conference room, 20 N. Main St., room 261, Brooksville.
The public can give input on the Long Range Transportation Plan as well as other elements of the transportation planning process.

Community Initiative Team Meets Dec. 4
The Community Initiative Team, appointed by county commissioners, will meet at 3:30 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 4, in the 4th floor conference room, county administration, room 460, at the Hernando County Government Center, 20 N. Main St., Brooksville.
The CIT's task is to create a strategic plan to address concerns affecting residents in the largely unincorporated neighborhoods of Hernando County. This meeting will address ongoing progress of efforts to improve the south Brooksville neighborhood.
The team consists of representatives from various departments of county government and city of Brooksville staff who will work in conjunction with south Brooksville community residents.
The meeting is open to the public.
