BROOKSVILLE - Mother Nature will deal another frosty blow to the Nature Coast this week, forecasters say.
A freeze watch is in effect for Hernando County and points north for Tuesday night and into Wednesday morning, according to the National Weather Service in Ruskin.
Clear skies and light winds will allow temperatures to dip below freezing for as many as five hours in some areas, forecasters said. Patchy frost is in the forecast for most of the county, and the mercury will fall to the high 20s in Brooksville.
Officials advise residents to protect cold-sensitive plants and bring pets indoors.
Temperatures will rebound on Wednesday, with sunny skies and highs in the mid-60s, forecasters said.
