What You See Is What You Will Get

Do some of us have young people, male and/or female, in our households? Perhaps grandchildren 18-plus years of age attending college to provide for their future?
Well, at a Town Hall meeting in Las Cruces, N.M., an audience member, confused as to where John McCain proposed to get the troops he intends to send to, apparently everywhere, suggested this could not be done without reinstating the draft. McCain's answer was, "I don't disagree with anything you've said."
He has said, clearly, that he means to reinstitute the draft, so be ready to sacrifice the futures, in fact the very lives, of your young, guys and gals alike, to McCain's crazy war crusade, which kills our troops, but enriches the oil industry, while shaming us before the entire world.
Phillip Butler, a Naval Academy classmate of McCain's, describes him as a "wild man," intent on breaking "every USNA regulation" in the book. "He barely managed to graduate, standing 5th from the bottom of his 800-member graduating class." It was "speculated that the main reason he did graduate was because his father was an admiral." McCain's heroism is touted by the media as a recipient of a Silver Star and Purple Heart; however, there were about 600 military POWs in Vietnam who received Medals of Honor (8), Service Crosses (42), Silver Stars (590), Bronze Stars (958) and Purple Hearts (1,249), so McCain was not unique and actually received lesser medals than some others.
From Phillip Butler: "I furthermore believe that having been a POW is no special qualification for being president of the United States. The two jobs are not the same and POW experience is not, in my opinion, something I would look for in a presidential candidate." Butler further describes McCain as a "hot head" and does not want McCain's finger near that "red button," a man whose policies are the same as those of the Bush administration.
Ross Perot describes McCain: "He's always reaching for attention and glory. Other POWs won't even sit at the same table with him. McCain was adamant about shutting down anything to do with recovery of POWs from Vietnam." Why would anyone, especially one who was a POW and was tortured, fight against locating other POWs we were convinced were still in the hands of the North Vietnamese?
McCain refers you to his campaign staff when asked how many houses he owns. Does that sound like he is one of us? He is an elitist son of an oil industry heiress. He is against Single Payer Health Care, saying the government should not be providing health care to our citizens, yet he has been covered by government healthcare since the day of his birth as the son of an admiral. Good enough for him, but not for the rest of us? He has stated that you are "rich" if you make more than $5 million dollars a year! Huh? Think he is one of the masses, folks? And can he represent the working men and women of this country with such beliefs?
The elitist here is clear and it is not Obama, whose mom had to resort on occasion to food stamps. The elitist is McCain and he does not even know who the rest of us are. He is relying on smears and lies and did not even know what kind of car he owns, again referring the questioner to his campaign to find out.
This man, if elected, will propel the world into World War III and, economically, has admitted his lack of knowledge, a statement he now denies making. While you check out every price tag on the food you buy, this guy pays about $250,000 per year to the household servants who cook his meals and clean his seven homes. Is he, in any way, like you or your neighbors, your family members, your friends? Don't be fooled, yet again, by the promises being made to you by yet another war profiteer. He will keep the tax breaks for corporations in place, indeed, making them permanent.
Obama promises a $1,000 tax rebate to everyone making less than $250,000 per year. Obama wants a shift to solar and wind power to take away our dependence on foreign oil, while McCain's dream is to drill offshore and foster yet more obscene profits for Big Oil and a continued dependence on oil. This will profit McCain and his oil buddies and any oil that was drilled and recovered will go on the world market and probably increase your price at the pump, not lower it.
Take care of No. 1 people, a favorite ethic of the Republican Party, and that means voting for change. Voting out the guys who have us by the throat now and will continue to squeeze us to death and poverty. The easier to control us, folks.
