BROOKSVILLE - A Brooksville man wanted for allegedly shooting a man in the leg this weekend was arrested Thursday after he stabbed a woman in the finger, investigators say.
Richard Hart, 37, of 721 Wood Drive, was arrested around 7:45 a.m. after he reportedly robbed a woman of prescription pills in her home on Boca Raton Street.
The victim knew him from the neighborhood and invited him inside, where he emptied her purse of prescription pill bottles, a report states. When the woman put her hand down to stop him, Hart reportedly cut the web area between two of her fingers with a folding knife, deputies say.
Deputies were already on the look out for Hart after a warrant was issued Wednesday for his arrest in connection with a shooting on Sunday.
A witness told investigators that Hart was in an "altercation" with the victim when the shot was fired around 4:30 a.m. Neither the witness, nor the victim, 20-year-old Michael Lisk, actually saw the gun, only the resulting flash and loud boom, according to an affidavit.
Hart is known to carry a small-caliber gun and has fired the weapon in the past, investigators say.
A detective recovered a .25 caliber casing from the crime scene on Wildwood Drive, but was unable to retrieve the bullet because it's still lodged in the victim's leg.
Hart was charged with aggravated battery in connection with that case and armed robbery and aggravated battery for the incident on Boca Raton.
