BROOKSVILLE - Investigators had nothing new to report Monday on the shooting of a 20-year-old man.
Investigators say an argument broke out between two men around 4:30 a.m. Sunday outside 19420 Wildwood Drive in Brooksville. One shot was fired from a small-caliber handgun and the victim, Michael Lisk, was hit in the left thigh, according to the sheriff's office.
Lisk escaped to another house nearby where he waited for authorities. The incident is under investigation as an aggravated battery.
Barry Stires lives across the street, but he slept through the episode. He noticed though that a party was building up before he went to bed.
"I knew there was going to be trouble," he said.
No one answered the door at the crime scene on Monday afternoon. Lisk was reported to be responsive at the hospital Sunday, but hospital officials would not release his condition on Monday.
Sgt. Jim Powers, spokesman, said there was no connection between this incident and another shooting Friday evening on Jacobson Road.
"This is an isolated incident," he said.
