BROOKSVILLE - The Hernando County School Board will meet Tuesday for an afternoon workshop and evening meeting.
At the 1 p.m. workshop, the board's discussion issues will include:
• Review of a request from the facilities department for the district to pursue a property purchase at Suncoast Boulevard. This is a follow-up to the board workshop on July 29, when the board directed staff to attempt to reduce the asking price of the property. The total cost has now been reduced from $1.06 million to $800,000.
• Review of revised district polices related to school service funds, payment of vouchers and internal funds. The board will also review two revised transportation policies.
• Consideration of candidates for the board's citizen appointee and board member chosen for the Value Adjustment Board, due to recent changes to state requirements. The citizen appointee must be a business owner whose business occupies commercial space in the county, yet is not a member or employee of a taxing authority and does not represent property owners in review of property taxes.
Issues to be discussed at the board's 7 p.m. meeting are primarily routine policy items.
Both meetings will take place at the district's headquarters, located at 919 N. Broad Street in Brooksville.
