SPRING HILL - United Way is hosting a summer shindig featuring food, fun and a variety of vendors.
The party kicks off at 10 a.m. Aug. 9 at Paul and Jerry's Self Storage, 10161 County Line Road, and ends at 3 p.m. The event will feature resume-building tips from Career Central, a presentation on recycling by Hernando County Waste Management and a variety of vendors for a craft/yard/garage sale.
There will also be a drop off box for school supplies as part of United Way's "Stuff The Bus" drive. Food and beverages will be served by the Kiwanis Club; music and karaoke by DJ Coole.
The public is invited and there are still spots available for booths. For more information, call 352-684-4414.
Skateboarders:
Get Tricked Out Aug. 9
A skateboard trick contest and end-of-summer party will begin at 11 a.m. Aug. 9 at Pioneer Skate Park (Stewy's). There is no cover charge.
SandStorm Skate Shop of Spring Hill is hosting the event and will give away $3,000 in prizes, including decks, T-shirts, hats and stickers. The event will include a live DJ and food. For more information, call 772-933-1156.
