In the Sunday, Dec., 16, edition of Hernando Today on page A12, you provide full coverage of our board of county commissioners regular meeting agenda scheduled for Tuesday, Dec. 18.
Among information you provide is the somewhat startling revelation in the left hand column under "C* PRESENTATION OF RESOLUTIONS," which reads "Proclaiming World Hypnotism Day in Hernando County."
Sunday is usually a time for family activities, church-going and, of course, the celebration of Christmas and Hanukah at this time.
Now we learn, however, that there is the possibility of mind control, hypnotic trances and other potentially sinister occurrences. We also learn that a period of unforeseen crisis may be foisted upon us and that our board of commissioners will not be meeting again until Jan. 15. This is a generous break for part-time employees. The item "adjournment" also uses the phrase "Happy Holidays."
With the prospect of residents of Hernando County lying around comatose and subject to hypnotic episodes, whoever dreamed this up has to be kidding! Will Larry Jennings be available should the residents of Hernando County lose control of our faculties?
