Yacht Club to present Christmas Boat Parade
HERNANDO BEACH - Hernando Beach Yacht Club will present its 30{+t}{+h} annual Christmas Boat Parade at 6 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 15. The parade will begin at the Yacht Club located at 4163 Shoal Line Blvd. and will proceed to the main canals and back. Chili, hot dogs, ice cream and beverages will be available for purchase.
Escorts for the parade will be provided by the Coast Guard and the Hernando County Sheriff's Marine Patrol.
All boaters are invited to participate and to test their boat decorating skills.
Trophies will be awarded in each of the following categories: best original, best lighted and funniest boat. An entry fee of a new, unwrapped toy to be donated to Helping Hands United is requested. Entries can register at the Yacht Club from 6 to 9 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 12, or by registering by phone.

VFW Post 10209 to host Honor Guard dinner
SPRING HILL - VFW Post 10209 will host an Honor Guard dinner from 1 to 5 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 13, at its new Post home located at 14736 Edward R. Noll Drive, off Anderson Snow Road, Spring Hill. Dinner choices are chicken or roast beef. Ticket cost is $9.50 per person. For tickets or more information, call 352-796-0398.
New York Orchestra to perform at Post 10209
SPRING HILL - Frankie Dee New York Orchestra will perform from 2 to 5 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 16, at the new VFW Post 10209 located at 14736 Edward R. Noll Drive, off Anderson Snow Road, Spring Hill. Waltzes, Cha Chas, Latin, Jazz, Cheek to Cheek, Big Band and Frank Sinatra tunes will be featured.
Ticket cost is $9 which will include chances at door prizes. For reservations or more information, call Mary at 352-596-9486.
Brookridge to host annual bingo bash
BROOKSVILLE - Brookridge Woman's Club will hold its annual Bingo Bash on March 8, 2008, at the Brookridge Club House located at 8150 Hampton St., off Country Club Boulevard, Brooksville. Doors will open at 8:30 a.m., and games will be held from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. The total payout will be $3,200.
The cost is $35 per person and will include a homemade hot lunch, doughnut, coffee and iced tea.
